Happy Birthday Michael Schenker: Interview and Lesson from 1980 — Video

 

The German Rock giant, Michael Schenker, turns 61 today. To celebrate, let’s take a look at a clip from a rare instructional video for guitar players, created by British musician Richard Thompson, that features the man himself.

In the video below, shot in the 1980s, Schenker talks about his early influences and reveals how he ended up using a Flying V, as well as showing off some of the techniques he likes to use while playing. There is also some performance footage of the MSG, UFO and Scorpions great in action, for you to enjoy.
