Guthrie Govan, 1993 Versions of “Waves” and “Rhode Island Shred” Plus 2009 Live Performance — Video

In 1993 Guthrie Govan was the winner of Guitarist magazine’s “Guitarist of the Year” competition. In that same year he recorded some early versions of two songs that would also later re-record for his 2006 album Erotic Cakes.

Here are “Waves” and “Rhode Island Shred” from 1993’s Guitar on the Edge, Vol 1. no.4.

Plus, also below, a killer 2009 performance with fellow speed-king Dave Kilminster, of two other tracks that featured on his debut; “Wonderful Slippery Thing” and “Sevens”.
