AC/DC Postpone Tour, Brian Johnson Told To Stop Touring Immediately or Face Total Hearing Loss

Several online news outlets are reporting that the future of AC/DC is up in the air after frontman Brian Johnson has been ordered by doctors to “stop touring immediately.”

After 35 years of touring with the band, Johnson’s hearing issues have apparently come to a head. According to a press release, doctors have advised Johnson that if he does not stop touring, he risks “total hearing loss.”

In the official announcement from ACDC.com they state;

“AC/DC are forced to reschedule the 10 upcoming dates on the U.S. leg of their “Rock or Bust” World Tour. AC/DC’s lead singer, Brian Johnson, has been advised by doctors to stop touring immediately or risk total hearing loss. Tomorrow’s show in Atlanta through Madison Square Garden in New York, NY in early April will be made up later in the year, likely with a guest vocalist. More information regarding these rescheduled shows to come. Current ticket holders can hold on to their tickets for the rescheduled dates or receive a refund at point of purchase”

03/14 – Greensboro, NC @ Greensboro Coliseum
03/17 – Washington, DC @ Verizon Center
03/20 – Aurburn Hills, MI @ The Palace of Auburn Hills
03/23 – Columbus, OH @ Nationwide Arena
03/26 – Cleveland, OH @ Quicken Loans Arena
03/29 – Buffalo, NY @ First Niagara Center
04/01 – Philadelphia, PA @ Wells Fargo Center
04/04 – New York, NY @ Madison Square Garden

I am a musician with profound hearing loss. It is not a bad thing to not hear. I have developed technologies that allow me to make music by seeing sound as color and light. Vibrating platforms are available to help feel sound also. Lastly embrace the Deaf community and learn Sign Language. Continue to do what you love Brian. It will work out just fine.
