Happy Birthday Billy Gibbons. ZZ Top’s First Live Performance in Europe 1980 — Video

 

Today marks the 66th birthday of guitar legend Billy Gibbons. To celebrate lets take a look back at some awesome clips of ZZ Top’s first live European show in 1980.  Filmed in Germany it was part of the Rockpalast German television series.

In the clips below, Gibbons (With ‘Pearly Gates’, his 1959 burst, in hand) and co treat us to the blues-infused “Fool For Your Stockings and “Nasty Dogs and Funky Kings”.  As well as the ZZ Top classics; “Cheap Sunglasses” and “Just Got Paid”
