The Blues Accordin’ to Lightnin’ Hopkins – Full Documentary

The Blues Accordin' to Lightnin’ Hopkins

Check out the video clip below for an excellent 30-miniute documentary, capturing the life of legendary Blues singer/guitarist Sam “Lightnin” Hopkins.

The film begins depicting Hopkins as a young boy at the point that he decides to become a musician and goes on to show Lightnin’ as an adult in 1970, performing his very own version of the Blues.

Following the blues legend back to his hometown of Centerville, Texas (where he even performs at a large outdoor Barbeque). It gives you a very personal and genuine feel for who Lightnin’ Hopkins really was and what his music stood for.

A truly valuable piece of Blues history captured on film for all “Lightnin” fans.
